Are you spending a lot of time manually re-ordering your PDF pages for print? Do you need to get your PDF page order ready for imposition? You can now get these jobs done with Enfocus PitStop 2017 products.
Enfocus PitStop is mostly used to produce print-ready PDF files and offers features such as changing RGB to CMYK, adjusting page size and adding color bars. With Enfocus PitStop 2017, you can re-order your PDF pages too, switching the first page with the last page for example.
A new Action List called “Reorder pages” is now available in your Action List editor in Enfocus PitStop 2017 products.
Let’s take a look at the sub-options to get a better understanding on how this new feature works.
Reverse page
With the Reverse page option, the page order will get reversed. We start with R1, where R stands for last page and count backwards. The “…” are used to repeat the order for the rest of the pages.
The Usage part in the action will guide you on how to use the new page ordering.
You can also create a setting to adjust page labels. This means that your page 1 will show page 1 label and so on.
You can then set the number of pages.
Last but not least, you can view a preview of your new page order (see below).
Swap first and last page
The next default page ordering scheme is swapping first and last page.
We start with the last page (R1), keeping the existing order. You can do this by starting with the first page number (which will be 2 in this case) and using the “…” to keep going. The last page needs to be the first page, so we end with 1 as that is our first page. Note how a comma is used to separate the different schemes.
Swap even and odd pages
This next ordering scheme is about working with even and odd pages. The parentheses are used because we want to group the even and odd and swap the order. We start with even, then odd (2, 1) and that is now a group. Now you want to continue this for the rest of the pages.
Custom page ordering
Looking for something other than the above ordering options? No worries, there is also a Custom Page Ordering section. In the Custom Page Ordering section you can create your own, specific scheme for re-ordering your PDF pages.
Feature value?
By re-ordering your PDF pages with Enfocus PitStop 2017, there is no need to use any other tools. Next to getting your files print-ready, you can now also get them imposition-ready. You could even automatically re-order your PDF pages using hot folders with PitStop Server.
Enfocus PitStop products offer much more than this functionality, so if you’d like to learn more, please contact us today.
