Plug-Ins allow you to add features and capabilities to Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other Plug-In compliant applications for specialized tasks. Some Plug-Ins help to streamline repetitive functions and others provide entirely new features. They can assist with design, image-editing and enhancement, printing, production, and many other areas.
Much like system extensions, Plug-Ins are easy to install and to remove. Once you have placed a Plug-In in the Plug-In directory of Photoshop, the next time you start up the application, it will seamlessly integrate the Plug-In into its interface. Typically, a new tool icon and/or menu item will appear. If you remove the Plug-In from this directory, the next time you start up Photoshop, the Plug-In will no longer be loaded.
